What's new in Claris Studio

July 08, 2025 ✨

Data is the source of all power

  • With this release, you now have the ability to directly connect FileMaker apps to Claris Studio.

  • In the new Data Sources tab, you can create a new FileMaker data source and connect tables from one or more hosted apps—allowing you to access and work with data from those tables and seamlessly sync changes between FileMaker and Claris Studio.

  • In the Data Sources tab, you can also create Claris Studio tables, work with connected data sources, create views, and more.

Important  For full details and requirements, see Work with data sources. Successfully connecting a FileMaker data source requires a little bit of setup in both the FileMaker Pro app and in the FileMaker Server Admin Console, so we encourage you to check out the topic linked above before you get started.

Take my hand, I'll show you the way

  • We've added even more onboarding tasks and tutorials to help guide you on your journey with Claris Studio.

  • These new tutorials walk you through creating a dashboard, a form, and connecting a FileMaker data source to Claris Studio.

  • Even more tutorials to come—stay tuned!

Custom views 2.0

  • Starting with this release, all new custom views will support up to 250,000 records—a significant improvement from the current limit of 1,000.

  • Previously created custom views will continue to function as normal, however without support for larger record sets. These views will load a maximum of 1,000 records and will show warnings when approaching and meeting the limit.

According to my calculations...

  • At long last, we've added reference content for Claris Studio calculation functions. Check out the Functions reference to see the full power of the Claris Studio calculation engine.
