Connecting to Claris apps

Claris Connect provides the following connectors for working with the Claris platform:

  • Claris Studio - For working with hubs, views, users, and records

  • Claris FileMaker - For working with files hosted on both FileMaker Cloud and FileMaker Server as well as tables in Claris Studio. FileMaker Server 21.1.1 at minimum is supported.

  • Claris FileMaker Cloud - For working with files hosted on FileMaker Cloud

  • Claris FileMaker Server - For working with files hosted on FileMaker Server

  • Claris FileMaker Server On-premise - For working with files hosted on FileMaker Server On-premise deployments

  • Claris FileMaker Server Admin API - For using FileMaker Admin API commands on files hosted on FileMaker Server

  • Claris FileMaker Cloud Admin API - For using FileMaker Admin API commands on files hosted on FileMaker Cloud

Note  The FileMaker Cloud and FileMaker Server connectors have been deprecated in favor of the universal Claris FileMaker connector.

For all connectors, a Claris ID is required to sign in, and you must be part of a team. See Claris Customer Console Help.

For FileMaker Cloud hosted files:

  • a Claris ID is required to sign in with for files hosted on FileMaker Cloud. See Setting up authentication in FileMaker Cloud Help.

The information required to establish the connection differs between FileMaker Server and FileMaker Cloud connectors.

Because Claris Studio, FileMaker Cloud, and Claris Connect authenticate with Claris ID, you are automatically authenticated when adding a Claris Studio or FileMaker Cloud step and don't have to specify your username and password.

If you are still unable to connect to your FileMaker app after verifying the above settings, contact support.
