Installing FileMaker Pro (Windows)

You must use the full installer program to install FileMaker Pro—you can't install FileMaker Pro by dragging files to your hard disk.

1. After downloading the file for FileMaker Pro, double-click the installer icon (.exe file).

   

2. Follow the onscreen instructions.

   If the full installer can't continue because a previous version is already installed, you must either:

   • Uninstall the previous version, then run the full installer again. See Uninstalling FileMaker Pro (Windows). The full installer can't keep a previous version.

   • Or, to keep the previous version, don't use the full installer—use the updater instead. See Upgrading FileMaker Pro (Windows).

3. In the Customer Information dialog, click Browse for Certificate and choose the license certificate file you downloaded.

4. Continue following the onscreen instructions.
