Managing remote backup

Use FileMaker Server Admin Console to assign, unassign, connect, or disconnect a remote backup drive.

Use Claris Customer Console to:

  • Upgrade your remote backup storage.

  • Rename, remove, or change the size of a drive.

  • Approve, rename, or unassign the server assigned to a drive.

To assign or connect a drive, see Setting up remote backup.

For all of the following steps, use the Remote Backups > Remote Backup Drives tab.

To unassign a drive:

  1. Make sure the drive is disconnected.

  2. Select the drive, then click Unassign Drive.

  3. Click Unassign Drive to confirm unassigning the drive.

The drive is removed from the list of remote backup drives in FileMaker Server Admin Console.

To disconnect a drive:

  1. Select the drive on the list of remote backup drives.

  2. Click Disconnect Drive.

Disconnecting the drive stops remote backups and keeps the files in the local hosting folder. To resume backups, you must connect a new drive.
